Information from provider

ProviderThierry Heidmann
Provider affiliationUMR8122 CNRS, Institut Gustavec Roussy
Genetic informationIn the targeting vector, the syncytin-B ORF and its surrounding sequences were amplified from 129/Sv mouse DNA by PCR. The targeted allele contains the unique syncytin-B ORF flanked by loxP recombination sites allowing its conditional excision.
Phenotypic informationMice with conditional allele: no obvious phenotypic defects. Mice with syncytin-B knock-out allele (after cre-mediated excision of syncytin-B ORF): homozygous null embryos display an impaired placentation, with late-onset growth retardation and reduced neonate number.
Breeding historyBackcrossed 5 times to C57BL/6.
