Alternative name | B6;Tox3lacZ |
Strain type | Targeted Mutant Strains : Knock-out |
Allele/Transgene symbol | Tox3tm1b(KOMP)Mbp |
Gene/Transgene symbol | Tox3 |
Information from provider
Provider | Richard Iggo |
Provider affiliation | Unite INSERM, Institut Bergonie |
Genetic information | lacZ knock-in replaces exons 5-6 of Tox3, deleting the Tox3 HMG box DNA binding domain. TOX3 is a GWAS breast cancer predisposition gene. Derived from Tox3tm1a(KOMP)Mbp by crossing with Stella-Cre mice. |
Phenotypic information | Homozygous:Homozygotes die at birth, possibly from neurological problems. Strong neural tube staining in Xgal. Weak mammary bud staining in Xgal.Heterozygous:Heterozygotes are healthy and fertile with no obvious mammary phenotype. |
Breeding history | Tox3tm1a(KOMP)Mbp mice from UC Davis were crossed with Stella-Cre mice from Sanger, to delete neo cassette and Tox3 exons 5-6. Currently about 5 generations of backcrossing to C57BL/6N. KOMP tm1a mice were pure C57BL/6N. Stella-Cre mice were on a mixed background. |
