International strain name | B6.129-Il2rbtm1Mak/Cnbc |
Alternative name | IL - 2 Rb |
Strain type | Targeted Mutant Strains : Knock-out |
Allele/Transgene symbol | Il2rbtm1Mak |
Gene/Transgene symbol | Il2rb |
Information from provider
Provider | Tak W Mak |
Provider affiliation | Mak Lab, Campbell Family Breast Cancer reseach Institute |
Genetic information | Mice defective in IL-2Rb expression were generated by insertion of neomycin resistance cassette into Il2rb gene at exon 6 which encodes a region of the extracellular domain proximal to the transmembrane region. |
Phenotypic information | Homozygous mice are smaller, have abnormal hair, slow movement and poorly developed external genitals. Death occurs at 12 weeks of age. T cells are spontaneously activated causing exhaustive differentiation of B cells into plasma cells and high serum concentrations of IgG1 and IgE, as well as autoantibodies that cause hemolytic anemia. |
Breeding history | 10 backcrosses to C57BL/6. |
