Information from provider
Provider | Albert Pastink |
Provider affiliation | IHB, LUMC |
Genetic information | To inactivate the mouse Rad52 gene, a targeting construct was generated in which exon 3, that is located in the conserved part of the gene, was replaced by a neomycin resistance marker. |
Phenotypic information | Homozygous Rad52 mutant animals do not show gross abnormalities or defects in fertility or in the immune system. At the cellular level, inactivation of both Rad52 alleles results in a reduced frequency of homologous recombination. Unlike yeast Rad52 mutant cells, ablation of Rad52 in mouse cells does not lead to an increased sensitivity to DNA damaging agents. |
