Information from provider

ProviderAlbert Pastink
Provider affiliationIHB, LUMC
Genetic informationTo inactivate the mouse Rad52 gene, a targeting construct was generated in which exon 3, that is located in the conserved part of the gene, was replaced by a neomycin resistance marker.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous Rad52 mutant animals do not show gross abnormalities or defects in fertility or in the immune system. At the cellular level, inactivation of both Rad52 alleles results in a reduced frequency of homologous recombination. Unlike yeast Rad52 mutant cells, ablation of Rad52 in mouse cells does not lead to an increased sensitivity to DNA damaging agents.

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen embryos. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
