Genetic informationThe wild-type Fas ligand (Fasl) allele was replaced with a deletion mutant which lacks the intracellular domain (i.e. aa 2-73). The targeting construct contained a tk-neo fusion cassette flanked by loxP sites for positive selection. This tk-neo cassette has been removed after breeding with CMV-cre recombinase deleter mice.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous mutants develop a lymphoaccumulation of T-cells in the periphery, similar to Fas ligand-deficient gld/gld mice (of a strain with a Fas ligand spontaneous mutant allele). In addition, mice probably develop autoimmune defects, again similar to gld/gld mice. Therefore, homozygous mice die within 4-6 months of age in the C57BL/6 background.
Breeding historyBackcrossed to C57BL/6 for 4 generations.

Order

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen embryos. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
