Genetic information | The expression of cre recombinase (icre version) is targeted to dopaminergic neurons using a bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) encompassing the dopamine transporter gene (Slc6a3 or Dat). The expression profile has been checked by immunofluorescence. The cre expression is restricted to DAT-positive neurons. The efficiency of recombination has been analysed for several loxP-containing targets (GRlox, Gt(ROSA)26Sor-lacZ reporter strain) in F. Tronche's laboratory (Paris). In adult animals, recombination can be observed in all dopaminergic neurons and appears to be restricted to these neurons. |
Phenotypic information | No defects observed. |
Breeding history | F0 FVB/N mice were backcrossed for four generations to C57BL/6. |
