Genetic information | The expression of cre recombinase (icre version) is targeted to dopaminergic neurons using a bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) encompassing the dopamine transporter (Slc6a3, or Dat) gene. The expression profile has been checked by immunofluorescence. The cre protein expression is restricted to DAT-positive neurons. The efficiency of recombination has been analysed for several loxP-containing targets (GR-lox, Gt(ROSA)26Sor-lacZ reporter strain) in F. Tronche's laboratory (Paris). In adult animals, a recombination can be observed in all dopaminergic neurons and appears to be restricted to this type of neurons. |
Phenotypic information | No defects observed. |
