Genetic information | A targeting vector was designed to insert IRES.Cre-ERT2 in frame into exon 33 of the neuronal nitric oxide (Nos1) gene, followed by a frt-flanked neomycin resistance cassette. The construct was electroporated into C57BL/6N-derived embryonic stem cells. Correctly targeted embryonic stem cells were injected into BALB/c blastocysts and resulting chimeric males were bred to C57BL/6J females. Offspring was bred with C57BL/6 deleter mice to excise the neo cassette and to generate heterozygous mice carrying the knock-in allele. |
Phenotypic information | Homozygous:No phenotypic aberrations recordedHeterozygous:No phenotypic aberrations recorded |
Breeding history | Mice have been backcrossed to C57BL/6JRj mice for 17 generations |
