| Genetic information | This line was obtained by modification of S3 C57BL/6N embryonic stem cells. A cassette was inserted in exon 1 of Mcpt8, by homologous recombination in ES cells. An intron was added in exon 1 to stabilize the transgenic cDNA which contains a mutated TagRFP657 far-red monomeric fluorescent protein sequence, an LF2A (2A self-cleaving peptide) sequence which can induce ribosomal skipping during translation, a dual cre-F3-ERT2-F3 cassette which allows expression of creERT2 or cre (if crossed with an flp deleter), and a selection cassette. The pPGK-Neo selection cassette flanked by rox attachment sites was removed by breeding with the dre recombinase deleter line C57BL/6N-Gt(ROSA)26Sortm4.1(CAG-dre)Ics (EMMA strain ID EM:15557). TagRFP657 is not detected due to the mutation in its cDNA. A detailed model generation technical report is enclosed.
