Genetic information | We used the Atp5if1-floxed mouse line generated and described in our PLoS Biol 2021 publication (doi.org/10.1371/journal.pbio.3001252) and the B6.Cg-Tg(Camk2a-cre)T29-1Stl/J mouse strain. The latter expresses cre recombinase in neurons and in the germline. Germline recombination of the floxed Atp5if1 (IF1) allele was assessed by PCR in different tissues and its inheritance by breeding with wild-type C57BL/6J mice verified in tissues that naturally express IF1, which showed no expression of the protein (see Commun Biol 2023, 6:836, doi.org/10.1038/s42003-023-05214-1). |
Phenotypic information | Homozygous:None except when stressed.Heterozygous:Not studied. |
Breeding history | 6-7 generations in C57BL/6J. |
