Information from provider

ProviderEdith Hummler
Provider affiliationDepartment of Biomedical Sciences, UNIL
Genetic informationIn frame deletion at level of the DNA dimerization domain of the rat glucocorticoid receptor (GR) gene. This mutation was described in Ponce de León et al. 2014 as the 5.5, -309 bp deletion and consists of the deletion of the whole second zinc finger domain (G470-E508). The purpose of this line is to assess the function of GR monomers in vivo.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
lethal

Heterozygous:
The heterozygous mutant rats are viable and fertile and do not present any major macroscopic defects. GR+/em4 display adrenal gland hyperplasia and glucocorticoid excess similar to glucocorticoid resistance syndrome.
Breeding historygenerated in 2013, on going
