Genetic information | Single loxP site inserted upstream of Gpr37l1 exon 1 and floxed neomycin-resistance cassette inserted in intron 1 by homologous recombination in ES cells. A targeted XSV1 (129S6/SvEvTac) ES cell clone was used to produce the Gpr37l1-floxed/neo mouse mutant strain. |
Phenotypic information | No abnormal phenotype. GPR37L1 is a 7-transmembrane span protein, highly homologous to GPR37, a parkin-associated endothelin B receptor-like protein. Mammalian GPR37L1 receptors are highly expressed in various brain regions and have been reported to interact with the prosaposin glycoprotein, as well as its derived, cytoprotective peptides and analogues. In mouse cerebellar astrocytes the GPR37L1 protein is associated to patched 1, the primary cilium's sonic hedgehog coreceptor, as well as to megalencephalic leukoencephalopathy membrane proteins. |
