Information from provider

ProviderSylviane Muller
Provider affiliationUMR7242 Biotechnology and cell signalling, CNRS University of Strasbourg
Genetic informationT-lymphocyte deficient MRL/lpr mice that derived from the original MRL/lpr strain (MRL/MpJ-Faslpr/J, stock n. 000485); they still possess the MRL and lpr background; whole genomic study not yet available.
Phenotypic informationConserved (as in the original MRL/lpr strain): splenomegaly; enlarged lymph nodes and salivary glands; level of serum anti-dsDNA antibodies; peripheral cells of the myeloid lineage (granulocytes and monocytes). Changed in this new mutant strain: milder disease with a reduced proteinuria; decreased count of peripheral cells; decreased number of peripheral cells of the lymphoid lineage (CD4, DC8 and double-negative T cells with alpha/beta and gamma/delta TCR); decrease of activated CD4 T cells. Greater number of births compared to original MRL/lpr mice that usually have 1-2 successive litters of pups only.
Breeding historyMRL/lpr mice that derived from the original MRL/lpr strain (MRL/MpJ-Faslpr/J, stock n. 000485). They still possess the MRL and lpr background; whole genomic study not yet available.

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
