Information from provider

ProviderEleonora Candi
Provider affiliationExperimental Medicine, University of Roma "Tor Vergata"
Genetic informationHeterozygous mice for deletion of exon 13 of Trp63 locus. Exon 13 was subjected to a cre-mediated deletion then the resulting allele is able to drive the expression of p63beta isoform instead of p63alpha.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Homozygous mice are not available.

Heterozygous:
Heterozygous females are sterile, so it was not possible to obtain a homozygous strain. Male mice are fertile. Other phenotypic features are under investigation.
Breeding historyMice with Trp63 exon 13 floxed allele were generated by Ozgene (Ozgene Pty Ltd, Bentley, Australia), and the floxed/+ colony was amplified by crossing with wild-type C57BL/6J mice. Heterozygous floxed/+ mice were crossed with Tg(CMV-cre)1Cgn homozygous mice to obtain the p63 exon 13 deleted allele (Delta13p63). The Delta13p63/CMV-cre heterozygous mice were backcrossed with wild-type C57BL/6J mice to remove the CMV-cre allele.
