Information from provider

ProviderLia Panman
Provider affiliationMRC Toxicology Unit, University of Cambridge
Genetic informationIn frame insertion of GFP-creERT in exon 8 (first coding exon of Sox6), which was achieved by homologous recombination in ES cells. The insertion resulted in disruption of Sox6 gene function.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Homozygous mice die immediately after birth. Homozygous embryos have defects in cortical development, oligodendrocyte maturation, cartilage development and skeletal muscle differentiation.

Heterozygous:
Heterozygous or hemizygous animals do not display any obvious phenotype.
Breeding historyNeo cassette was removed by breeding the animals with Flp recombinase deleter mice. Subsequently the colony was maintained by crossing heterozygous animals to C57BL/6J animals. The colony was backcrossed for at least 12 generations.

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
