Genetic information | Targeted Knock out mice for MHC class I chain related gene (MR1) |
Phenotypic information | Homozygous:Defect in the control of infection by Klesbiella pneumoniae in mice. Significantly increased susceptibility to Salmonella typhimurium in MR1 KO animals. A number of key cytokines is reduced in MR1 KO mice: - very low expression of TNF-alpha - strong reduction of IL17 expression. Perturbation in the balance between pro- and anti-inflammatory molecules in infected MR1 mutants compared to controls: - reduction of IL1beta expression - MIP-1alpha strongly inhibited in infected mutant mice Heterozygous:No phenotype |
Breeding history | congenic-inbred mice |
