Information from provider

ProviderZhenkun Lou
Provider affiliationOncology, Mayo Clinic
Genetic informationMdc1+/- mice were originally obtained injecting the ES clone (OST441263) from Lexicon Genetics into C57BL/6 blastocysts to generate chimeric mice. Splicing of the neomycin gene and flanking DNA produces a transcript that potentially disrupts the proper splicing of exons 1 and 2 of the Mdc1 gene
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
MDC1 knockout mice recapitulated many phenotypes of H2AX knockout mice, including growth retardation, male infertility, immune defects, chromosome instability, DNA repair defects, and radiation sensitivity

Heterozygous:
no described phenotype

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen embryos. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Frozen sperm. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
