Genetic informationThis is a mutant mouse model with Zip14 (Slc39a14) L438R inserted in the Gt(ROSA)26Sor locus. A loxP-flanked transcriptional STOP cassette is incorporated between Zip14-L438R and a CAG promoter to allow the conditional overexpression of Zip14-L438R to be dependent upon the cre recombinase.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Homozygous Zip14 (flox) mice, with a loxP-flanked transcriptional STOP cassette still incorporated between Zip14-L438R and a CAG promoter, do not have a phenotype. Only crossing Zip14 (flox) mice with cre recombinase-expressing mice will result in active expression of Zip14-L438R and, possibly, a phenotype.

Heterozygous:
Heterozygous Zip14 (flox) mice, with a loxP-flanked transcriptional STOP cassette still incorporated between Zip14-L438R and a CAG promoter, do not have a phenotype. Only crossing Zip14 (flox) mice with cre recombinase-expressing mice will result in active expression of Zip14-L438R and, possibly, a phenotype.

Order

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen sperm. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
