Information from provider

ProviderKlaus Rajewsky
Provider affiliationCBR Institute for Biomedical Research, Immune Disease Institute
Genetic informationThis strain expresses the cre recombinase protein in myeloid cells due to targeted insertion of the cre cDNA into their endogenous M lysozyme (Lyz2) locus. An NLS-cre gene was inserted into the endogenous ATG start site of the endogenous Lyz2 gene. An frt-flanked neomycin cassette was removed in ES cells via Flp-mediated recombination prior to production of chimeric mice.
Phenotypic informationThis strain allows in vivo conditional gene targeting in macrophages and granulocytes.
Breeding historyBackcrossed to C57BL/6 (6-7 generations)
