Information from provider
Provider | Klaus Rajewsky |
Provider affiliation | CBR Institute for Biomedical Research, Immune Disease Institute |
Genetic information | This strain expresses the cre recombinase protein in myeloid cells due to targeted insertion of the cre cDNA into their endogenous M lysozyme (Lyz2) locus. An NLS-cre gene was inserted into the endogenous ATG start site of the endogenous Lyz2 gene. An frt-flanked neomycin cassette was removed in ES cells via Flp-mediated recombination prior to production of chimeric mice. |
Phenotypic information | This strain allows in vivo conditional gene targeting in macrophages and granulocytes. |
Breeding history | Backcrossed to C57BL/6 (6-7 generations) |
