Information from provider

ProviderThierry Heidmann
Provider affiliationInstitut Gustave Roussy, UMR9196 CNRS
Genetic informationMice containing an excised copy of the Syncytin-B open reading frame.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Homozygous null embryos display an impaired placentation, with late onset growth retardation and reduced neonate numbers.

Heterozygous:
no phenotypic alteration
Breeding historyThe original founder (B6.129/Sv) was backcrossed 10 times to DBA/2J. Then, four homozygous mutant siblings, obtained from two couples, were bred and the mutant strain was subsequently maintained in a homozygous state for more than 7 generations.

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen embryos. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
