Genetic informationA kinase-dead MSK1 mouse was generated by mutating Asp194 to Ala in the endogenous MSK1 (Rps6ka5) gene. The knock-in was produced by TaconicArtemis using standard targeting methods in C57BL/6 ES cells.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Mice have impaired hippocampal synaptic transmission and greater dendritic spine density (CA1), but no obvious behavioural or LTP/LTD phenotype.

Heterozygous:
Not tested.
Breeding historyMice originally derived from C57BL/6N have been backcrossed with C57BL/6J for at least 6 generations.
