The Basics of Histology

This course introduces delegates to a range of histological procedures, the reasons behind histology in research and the importance of using different techniques in processing, sectioning and staining mouse tissues.

After the course, you will be able to:

  • Identify, recognise and embed a range of mouse tissues
  • Cut wax microtome sections from different tissues
  • Perform PAS and a Perls stain on mouse tissue
  • Gain a working knowledge of histological procedures required to analyse tissue under the microscope
